BTK Biological Insecticide against Processionary Caterpillar (pine, cedar, oak) - 25g or 10 water-soluble doses of 2.5g

The biological insecticide contains a micro-organism: Bacillus thuringiensis.

This insecticide acts by ingestion. This substance corrodes their intestinal wall and has the effect of paralyzing the jaws of the caterpillar. A few hours after absorption of the product, the caterpillar can no longer eat and dies in the following days.

This biological insecticide is perfectly selective (acts only on caterpillars that ingest the product) and extremely respectful of other insect species, of humans and of the environment.

The format of water-soluble sachets makes it possible to define the right dose of treatment.

Any washing rain (approximately 15 to 20 mm) must lead to a systematic renewal of the application.

Advice

This biological insecticide acts by ingestion, the caterpillars must ingest the product by feeding on the leaves where the product is found. It should only be applied at temperatures exceeding 12°C, otherwise the caterpillars would not assimilate enough active ingredient.

The effectiveness depends on the quantity of product ingested by the caterpillars. Consequently, the quality of the spray is a key factor in the success of the treatment; it must be homogeneous (adjust the nozzle of the sprayer to obtain the finest possible mist-style spray and favor complete coverage of the area to be treated, especially the center of the interior of the pine/cedars.
