Biological treatment against fungus gnats - sciarids
Steinernema Feltiaé (SF) Nematodes 10 million + 20 sticky traps + 1 Special Nematode sprayer of 5 liters

Treatment against fungus gnats using nematodes protects potted plants and planters from the small flies that can be seen flying around in the soil.

This biological control is extremely effective in eliminating sciarid larvae which attack young plants to feed.
Nematodes are microscopic worms invisible to the naked eye.

This method of controlling fungus gnats is environmentally friendly and free of chemicals and harmful substances.

ATTENTION :
This is a LIVE PRODUCT with a VERY SHORT use-by date.
Avoid buying them in advance.
Use THE WHOLE JAR at the time of TREATMENT, as the nematodes are not evenly distributed throughout the sachet.

Packaging : Pot of 10 million nematodes for approximately 20 m2 - Supplied with 5L sprayer and 20 XXL yellow sticky traps.
PS: pot containing a wet granular powder.

Instructions for use for nematodes

1. Identify the problem
You may notice small fungi flying around your plants. Be careful, other insects such as thrips can also fly on the leaves. It is important not to confuse them. Fungus gnats lay their eggs in the soil, which can cause damage to the plants. The larvae that hatch feed on the roots, causing poor health and reduced plant growth. It is important to identify the problem in order to choose the appropriate treatment.

2. Preparation of the nematode solution
Start by diluting the entire contents of the pot of nematodes in a small container filled with clean water at room temperature. Mix well: the presence of small lumps is not a problem. Then pour this preparation into a watering can, sprayer or container, then add the necessary amount of water, at a temperature between 15°C and 25°C (consult the dosage table for the precise quantity). Mix again and proceed quickly to apply. Make sure to stir the mixture regularly to prevent the nematodes from settling at the bottom of the container.

3. Soil preparation
Before applying the nematode solution, water the soil to make it moist. This will allow the nematodes to move more easily through the soil. Nematodes, which do not have legs, use moisture combined with soil particles to move around. Be careful not to over-wet the soil, as this could affect the survival of the nematodes by "suffocating" them.

4. Application by spraying or watering of nematodes
Spray the nematode solution onto the surface of the infected potting soil. Water enough so that the solution is absorbed by the potting soil.

5. Continue watering
Nematodes need a moist environment to survive. To maintain their effectiveness, continue to water the soil lightly on a regular basis. Nematodes need moisture to move through the soil and find the fly larvae.

6. Monitor the results
Steinernema feltiae nematodes work quickly to control fungus gnats. You should notice a decrease in the larval population after a few days. Please note that the nematodes only treat fungus gnat larvae and not the flying adult form. For adult forms, you can use yellow chromatic glue boards to trap them. If the larvae persist, it may be necessary to repeat the treatment. It is important to follow the application instructions to get the best results when treating fungus gnats with Steinernema feltiae nematodes.

Instructions for use of traps

  • Pack Contents: You will find 10 insect traps with various designs.
  • Preparation: Carefully remove the white protective film from each side of the trap.
  • Placement: Insert the trap directly into your plant's soil.

For optimum effectiveness, check traps regularly and replace them when they are full of insects.

Date of treatment with anti-fungal nematodes
Nematode treatment can be carried out all year round as a preventative or curative measure as soon as the pests appear when the temperature reaches 10 to 12°C.

Dosage

Mode of action
Nematodes are naturally present in the soil in small quantities, they are microscopic worms invisible to the naked eye, respectful of useful insects, crops and vertebrates (human beings and domestic animals).

- Nematodes move through the soil looking for pest larvae to parasitize them. When they find them, they enter their bodies through natural channels and multiply inside, causing their death within a few days.

Tip : Combine this nematode treatment with the yellow glue traps for potted plants to also eliminate the adult stage.

Protection : planters and potted plants.

Treated surface : 20 m²
