Biological treatment against fungus gnat - sciarids
Nematodes Steinernema Feltiaé (SF) 50 million

The treatment against fungus gnats with nematodes protects plants in pots and planters from small flies that can be seen hovering on the soil.

This biological control is extremely effective in eliminating sciarid larvae which attack young plants to feed.
Nematodes are microscopic worms invisible to the naked eye.

This control method to eradicate fungus gnats is respectful of the environment, without chemical or harmful products.

CAUTION :
It is a LIVE PRODUCT with a FAIRLY SHORT use-by date.
Avoid buying them in advance.
Use the ENTIRE SACHET at the time of TREATMENT because the nematodes are not evenly distributed in the sachet.

Advice

Combine this nematode treatment with the yellow glue traps for potted plants to eliminate the adult stage as well.

Protection

Planters and potted plants.

Surface treated

About 50 m2

Composition

Soil flies: 50 million nematodes

PS: Sachet containing a wet granular powder.

Manual

By simple watering.
Moisten the soil to be treated.
Pour the powder into a watering can, add water and mix well.
Water the ground.

How are your soil fly nematodes delivered to you?

By unrefrigerated follow-up letter directly to the mailbox.

Nematodes can survive more than 8 days at room temperature without concern. Storage in the fridge is just to be able to keep them longer by slowing down their development.

The nematodes are to be kept cool after reception in order to slow down their metabolism ("hibernation") in order to be able to keep them until the expiry date.
At room temperature, the nematodes do not die but continue their development. Without food (mushroom fly larvae), they would eventually die naturally after about ten days.

Date of treatment with soil fly nematodes

Treatment with nematodes can be done all year round preventively or curatively as soon as the pests appear when the temperature reaches 10 to 12°C.

Dosage

A whole bag of 50 million nematodes for about 50m2

mode of action

Nematodes are naturally present in the soil in small quantities, they are microscopic worms invisible to the naked eye, respectful of useful insects, crops and vertebrates (human beings and domestic animals).

How do they proceed?

- Nematodes move through the soil in search of pest larvae to parasitize them. When they find them, they enter their body through natural channels and multiply inside, thus leading to their death within a few days.
